Rodrigo Garcia da Fonseca

Rodrigo Garcia da Fonseca is the President of the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC). He is also a founding partner of Rio de Janeiro-based Fonseca e Salles Lima Advogados (FSLA) and has more than 30 years of experience in dispute resolution, including international arbitration, litigation and arbitration-related court proceedings. Rodrigo acts both as counsel and arbitrator in domestic and international disputes under the rules of major arbitral institutions as well as in ad hoc proceedings and is frequently appointed as arbitrator in complex commercial disputes. He serves on the Award Scrutiny Commission of CIAM-CIAR and participates in several international arbitration initiatives, including the ICC Latin American Arbitration Group and the LCIA Latin American Users’ Council. He is consistently recognized by leading legal directories, including Chambers, where he is ranked Band 1 among Brazil’s most in-demand arbitrators. Fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish, he is a frequent speaker and published author on arbitration matters.
